From the Introduction:
Experiencing Joy

"I am... completely saturated with the knowledge, not the thought, mind you, but the absolute knowing, that we are here to experience joy. I mean the bone-deep, rich, warm, comforting joy that spills out, overflowing during even our most difficult experiences. Joy, in contrast to worldly riches or creature comforts, is an entitlement. In other words, part of our very human-ness is this gift which has been bestowed upon each of us, in our hearts, in equal measure, as a matter of course. It is only now up to us to find it, to experience it, to live our lives through it, to color our own experiences, however easy or difficult these experiences may be, with this entitlement."

From Chapter Four:
You Must be Present to Win

"It's too easy to slip into a "get up, go to work, come home, go to bed, get up, go to work, come home, go to bed, get up, go to work... endless loop. You'll  know that some of your life is spent in this loop if you ever hear yourself asking, "Where did the year go?" or "How could it already be Christmas, again?" ... Sure. Time flies when you're having fun, but when you're not creating memories and living within moments, time just flies. And while it is flying, the stress of a hectic life deposits itself squarely between you and your experience of joy."

From Chapter Five:
You Get to Choose

"In an era when positive thinking has gained popularity and press, the fact is that positive thinking can be, especially before it becomes a habit, a difficult task of will. It is also a difficult concept to grasp, in its entirety as it relates to living in joy, because on the surface, it looks as though you have to ignore all circumstances, stuff down your emotions, and live in a fantasy world, thinking only of the positive aspects of all situations. However, I would like to expand your view of positive thinking."
